One principal implantologist, and a sedation route for the fearful

Aesthetique Dental Care has worked out of The Calls since 2009 and, unlike the newer studios in the Leeds ten, is a single site with one centre of gravity: Dr Ferakh Hamid, its owner and lead dentist. Twenty-five years in practice, an MSc with Distinction in Implant Dentistry from Salford, a two-year Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons, membership of the Association of Dental Implantologists, implant training taken further in Germany, France and Brazil. It is registered with the Care Quality Commission in his own name, not a company’s. Beside it sits intravenous sedation, so patients who put treatment off for years are seen by the clinician who places the implants.

Treatments and services

Implantology is the spine: single implants, bridges, implant-retained dentures and full-arch All-on-4 and All-on-6 restorations, planned digitally beforehand. Around it runs a broad general menu: hygiene, composite fillings, crowns, root canal treatment, oral surgery, wisdom-tooth removal, same-day emergency appointments. The conservative side is wider than most: air abrasion instead of the drill on suitable cavities, gold and porcelain inlays, fissure sealants, halitosis treatment, care for tooth wear and bruxism. Straightening is offered four ways — Invisalign, Six Month Smiles, the Inman Aligner and lingual braces behind the teeth. Cosmetic work covers bonding, veneers, whitening, stain removal and smile makeovers; facial aesthetics too.

The clinical team

Dr Hamid leads, with associate dentists Dr Omar Badat, Dr Asfa Mughal, Dr Alex Asquith and Dr Manveer Chhina, hygienist Samantha Bembridge, and practice manager Debbie Kendall, who fronts the practice’s guidance on dental anxiety. Patient feedback returns to the same things: unhurried appointments, options explained before decisions, and follow-up calls after implant work.

People missing a single tooth or a whole arch who want surgery and restoration done by one implantologist. Anxious and phobic patients who need sedation to get through longer treatment. City-centre workers — The Calls is a short walk from the station. Anyone who would rather have a tooth repaired by inlay or air abrasion than replaced.
