The Leeds practice that gives children a floor of their own

Clarendon Dental Spa has worked out of a Georgian townhouse on Woodhouse Square since 2007, family-run and still a single site: the company behind it holds one registration with the Care Quality Commission and no branches. Ten surgeries and more than forty staff make it one of the largest practices in the region, and an entire floor of it is paediatric — four child-friendly suites with specialists and nurses of their own.

Children’s dentistry

The children’s service is led by paediatric consultant Lucy Williams and paediatric specialist David Auld, with Christina Georgopoulou, Elnaz Aliakbari and Mamdouh Al-Chihabi alongside. It covers molar-incisor hypomineralisation, trauma from falls and sport, orthodontic extractions for under-sixteens on a referring orthodontist’s plan, white and brown enamel marks treated by microabrasion and Icon resin infiltration, and tooth-coloured crowns. Neurodivergent children and those with additional needs are offered familiarisation visits where nothing clinical happens, quieter slots, adapted lighting and sound, and relative analgesia.

Adults and specialists

Every discipline sits in the same building: endodontics with Fadi Kreishan, oral surgery and wisdom teeth with Sherif Abbas-Ali and Anoop Kizaekka, orthodontics with specialist Taiyub Raja, implants with Mohammed Akhtar, alongside general and cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign and other aligners, composite bonding, crowns and bridges, dentures, hygiene, whitening and facial rejuvenation. Sedation runs from inhaled nitrous oxide through tablets to intravenous midazolam under continuous monitoring, overseen by Dr Akhtar, and a fast-track emergency route operates seven days a week.

Standing and referrals

General dentists across Yorkshire have sent complex cases here for close to two decades, and patients can self-refer. Its assessment published in September 2025 met the Care Quality Commission regulations in all five areas; patients voted it Practice of the Year 2026 for Yorkshire, and its practice manager was named Practice Manager of the Year at the Dentistry Awards in 2024.

Who it suits

Parents of anxious, neurodivergent or injured children; adults who avoided dentistry for years and need sedation to begin; and anyone who would rather find the endodontist, oral surgeon and orthodontist in one building than be sent across the city. Care is private.
